DWB Training with ITCER tools and data in Africa – 46. Diversity Workbench Workshop, at ITCER, Kenya#
arranged by NFDI4Biodiversity and SNSB IT Center (in presence: Ng’iya, Siaya County)
October 16th, 2024 DWB Training
The workshop on ITCER training materials and gaming approaches will bring together ITCER members, young scientists from Kenyan universities and school teachers, local government employees and nature conservation professionals from Siaya County with data scientists from SNSB IT Center to optimize the outreach character and educational impact of the e-training approaches realised by ITCER (see here).
The event will include aspects on how to support persons and projects working in renaturation approaches in Siaya County. In this sense it relies on results of the Seminar on enhancing renaturation in siaya county 2held at October 15th, 2024.
The new ITCER approaches with agile AI-supported software development will be explained. First ideas how the existing ITCER software tools for training and the training datasets might be integrated in the Diversity Workbench (DWB) software suite, respectively tools environment, and promoted via the NFDI4Biodiversity network will be discussed. The 1-day workshop is part of planned future research activities with organisations in Africa and Europe on biodiversity data mobilisation in tropical Africa.
